Finished

Finally done. Stayed up until the wee hours of the morning Tuesday night/Wednesday morning to finish. I couldn't get around to reading the week of my show.

After many tears shed over what Harry had to do in the end and what happened to many of the characters that I love, (trying not to give it away here) I can't believe that I'm saying this, but I thought it was a little too long. She really strung this one out. And so when it climaxed I wasn't as affected as in the previous books.

I didn't get into the Hallows idea. In the end it just seemed unnecessary to the book. Like she thought she'd do more with it, but changed her mind in the end. So again, less words would have been fine for me. I loved what she did with Snape. Loved it. I'm a little mad at Dumbledore, for being weak and mortal. But I suppose that was Rowling's intention. Even the greatest among us are mortal and flawed.

I can't say anything else without ruining it for anyone still reading.

A fond farewell to Harry Potter, the Boy Who Lived.

I suppose it's hard to finish strong. (last season of Buffy anyone?)

I actually quite liked it. I thought the beginning might have been a bit longish, but otherwise...

I read it last week. I thought it was quite satisfying, except I think it should of wound down a little more at the end. You know, what English nerds call denouement (Shelly can attest.)

I enjoyed it. Stayed up until 5:00 am reading it last Friday. But Harry and the main characters did seem to "wander in the desert" for most of the book.

Still...glad I read it. Now I can get on with the rest of my life!

The Stan, yeah, I think I finally finished at 6 AM. With an hour of trying to sleep, but couldn't. Hey, isn't Shelley on her way to your neck of the woods?

Oh, I loved the book. I'm not sure after the 6 before, that I could have done anything but love the book. One day I'll start again from book 1, maybe. Just for fun. Harry Potter and his wizarding world are dear to the depths of my heart.

Amy, Buffy, huh? Ya know, I never got into that craze. But it seems fun.

So did you guys get what the deal was with the crying baby at the end? Seth and I were trying to figure that out. Who the heck was that?

Ha, yes loved Buffy....

I think the crying baby at the end was the part of Voldemort's soul that was attached to Harry.

Ok. That's what we were thinking, but we weren't sure. That was pretty creepy.
