8:42 AM:

Got up at 6. Put on a cute little audition dress. Layered up. Threw my dress shoes in my bag. Pulled on my UGGS. Tromped over to Starbucks. Got a double tall skim caramel macchiato. Tromped over and down to the subway. Went to my audition. Found out they weren't seeing non-Eq. Turned right back around. Tromped over and down to the subway. Am home in my cozy apartment.

It's OK. It MIGHT be possible that in the rush of the morning routine...I didn't shave my legs.

TMI?

"Woke up, fell out of bed
Dragged a comb across my head"....

Nice. =-)

But if Paul sang the words "cute little audition dress" I think I'd kill myself.

I was only kidding about the killing myself part. Yes, I realize that's bad taste but I couldn't think of anything worse to say.

Course, Paul could probably have made that sound like the best lyric EVER.

Well that's kinda poopy, ain't it? Do they usually make it clear in the listing whether or not they accept non-Equity? Or do you often get all the way there and have to turn right back around and leave?

The beauty of Uggs, (and frankly - Winter in its totality), my dear, is that one can hide her somewhat stubbly legs until a more convenient time. ;-)

sounds like you did a lot of tromping:-)

C-ham, no they don't make I clear in the listing except if it's a non union call. Then obviously non u will be seen. Usually, if it's an equity call, we get there early and wait a couple hours or so until the monitor gets there to start the audition. By that time the monitor hears from inside the room on whether or not they think they'll have time to see us. This time was different in that the girl who unlocked the audition waiting area told us no non eq way before the monitor ever got there. My guess is that since the audition building was an actual casting agency, (telsey - they cast bunches of movies. Watch credits to see their name) then a telsey casting director was hearing everyone and they already knew they were expecting a ton of equity, because they receive the equity sign up sheet the day before.

Did I completely confuse you?

Super C, couldn't agree more, except when that person has to take those uggs off and slip on heels and sing while a short distance from scrutinous eyes. Ehhhh they probably wouldn't have noticed anyways. However that whole issue does put a damper on the free-legged winters. :-(

That must be what I'm doing wrong: I need to get a cute little audition dress.

Your cozy day at home sounds divine.

Roy, hmmm...I think....unless you're planning on auditioning for this, then you're doing just fine without the dress.

Pop, it WAS divine. After a relaxing morning doing nothing, I eventually ventured out to the Children's Museum of Manhattan with my friend and her 1-yr-old.
