Public Transportation...

is the bomb-dot-com. ESPECIALLY when it's FREE!!!!

FREE shuttle to Ikea. From New York City to Elizabeth, NJ. Non-stop. And returning. Absolutely FREE!!!

Have you ever eaten at Ikea? Pretty darn tasty. I highly recommend the Swedish Meatballs, and the Chocolate Mousse Cake. Because it's all pretty delicious. Oh yeah, and HALF THE PRICE. How do you do it, Ikea? Really, how do you do it?

A fancied future field trip: A Saturday lunch date to Ikea in New Jersey. It would be the cheapest date of all. Hey, it could even be a Valentines date if you bought those cute little Ikea ice cube trays that freeze the ice in x's and o's.

Except Valentine's Day is on Thursday, not Saturday, and the shuttle is only free on Saturday and Sunday.

I love you, Ikea.

I'm jealous.

When will they put one in Nashville?

You guys had mentioned that IKEA was in Jersey when we were there. We parked at the Metropark in Iselin when we visited, about 4 or 5 stops south of Elizabeth.

I'm under the impression that Newark and Elizabeth are fairly high-crime areas. I'm wondering how far it is from your stop to the IKEA. Hopefully not too far. But you guys are the locals, so I trust that you know where you should and should not feel safe wandering around.

Also, I've been led to believe that no self-respecting New Yorker is supposed to mention Jersey without making fun of it somehow. I'm just sayin'. (For the record, every person we met in New Jersey was actually nice as could be.)

KD, who knows? But if they do, it'd be better to eat at Ikea than at a meat n' three. AND, they have the CUTEST kids stuff.

C-ham, the shuttle leaves from Port Authority, which is the major bus hub here. From there it's about 30 minutes, but there are no stops. It's a straight away shot to the store. So all the people going are random New Yorkers who just need some stuff! It's quite the community affair. I don't know anything about Jersey, but some friends of mine live there...and when we took a different (not free) bus to Ikea in Paramus, NJ, I thought the neighborhoods were really pretty. And I saw a deer in front of that Ikea. Really! A real live deer right in front of the store.

Fancypants - you re-define the term "Cheap Date" I have this mental image of you and Seth on the free shuttle to Ikea.

BTW - Last night I dreamed that you came to visit and you had a child -- a little girl (like aged 3) She had blond pony-tails and she had your wonderful laugh. And I said..."She has your laugh" and you said "That's my mom's laugh, too."

I must miss you a lot - I'm dreaming about you and your future child!!

Woah, that is weird. Sounds scarily prophetic. =-) I miss you too and can't wait to see you Thursday! Will call soon with details....

I drool like Pavlov's dog at the mention of Ikea.
